This is one of several sets of Mongolian postage stamps featuring Tsam masks issued after the fall of Communism. This stamp depicts Mahakala, also known as Gombo, a powerful protective god and lord of diseases and epidemics. Mahakala corresponds to the Hindu god Shiva.
